Whether your community is in the early stages of implementing 9-1-1, or you are new to the PSAP, the telecommunications industry, or any level of government, this course will introduce you to the core elements of the 9-1-1 system and help you understand the critical issues facing public safety today. Attendees will learn about the external systems and technologies that carry a call for help to the 9-1-1 center, as well as internal mechanisms within the PSAP that contain, deliver, and display critical caller information to the telecommunicator.

By applying a “common sense” approach to the world of emergency communications, students will gain a fundamental knowledge of the diverse technological and operational aspects of the 9-1-1 system.
