NENA's 2009 legislative agenda for the 111th Congress calls on lawmakers to comprehensively address multiple 9-1-1 issues, including the reauthorization of the ENHANCE 911 Act of 2004, funding for 9-1-1 grants, funding for the National E9-1-1 Implementation and Coordination Office (ICO), E9-1-1 requirements for multi-line telephone systems (MLTS), the promotion of policies to facilitate the implementation of next generation 9-1-1^(?) and emergency communications systems, and to ensure 9-1-1 and all other entities involved in emergency response are included in homeland security policy and grant programs.
