NG9-1-1 Project: Status of NG9-1-1 Related State Activity

NG9-1-1 Project: Status of NG9-1-1 Related State Activity

UPDATED 10/03/2011

The NENA NG9-1-1(?) project work includes active tracking of state and sub-state initiatives to build and activate IP networks that may support NG9-1-1 functions in the future, or that are active with or aimed at pre-NG9-1-1 applications.  This effort is basically for two purposes:  providing information to other interested parties who may need contacts that have already approached IP for NG9-1-1, and for recognizing those areas where NG9-1-1 related trials may be happening or planned.  NENA needs to monitor NG9-1-1 related trials and results.

More information on the USDOT NG9-1-1 project is available on their web site.

National IP Network and NG9-1-1 Progress

A spreadsheet of counties/regions/states who are either considering or implementing  an IP Network or next generation related components in preparation for NG9-1-1 is maintained by NENA.  Below is a color-coded map summarizing the information in the spreadsheet. If you have any corrections, updates or additions to the spreadsheet please contact Delaine Arnold.

All information provided to NENA will be published with no vendor names or pricing information.  If you care to supply that information, NENA will retain the specifics on a separate spreadsheet for internal use only.  Your assistance in keeping this spreadsheet current is greatly appreciated.
